I was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa until I was 13. I spent my high school years in the Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas. Convinced that God was moving me to be a church leader from a very young age, I began my route to full time ministry at Concordia University Wisconsin right out of high school. There I received my BA with a major in theological languages (Greek and Hebrew). I did my graduate training for the pastoral ministry at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri where I received my masters of Divinity. I am graduate of the Pastoral Leadership Institute based in Orange Country, California. My wife Alison and I have five children; Noah, Annemarie, Elaina, Josiah, and Lila.
A core value at New Song church is decentralized leadership. That means we do ministry at New Song church as Team. Watching New Song develop and grow from the very beginning has truly been the greatest thrill of my life. There is no question–for me the greatest part of my job involves watching the way God brings people to the team for the purpose of making a difference in the lives of people. One of the greatest benefits of a young church is there are plenty of opportunities for new people to get involved. If you are looking for a place where the people are real, the teaching is solid, the people are friendly and there is room to make a difference, come join the family of faith at New Song church.

I started working at New Song Church in the fall of 2007 and enjoy the exciting pace of things around New Song. Working with Pastor Hawkins and getting to know the people of New Song has been very rewarding. When I'm not at New Song, I work at my family's travel agency, and TRY to keep up with my 2 sons. You can also find me in The Promiseland room on Sunday morning, leading the children's ministry.

I have attended New Song Church from the very begining in 2000. I began working in the office in September of 2010. I really enjoy the people and environment and all that New Song has to offer. It's a great place for fellowship with plenty of opportunities to get together outside of "church time" with other Christians. I am a co-leader for our C.O.M.E. ministry, and I also coordinate our Women's Socials that allow the women of New Song to enjoy a ladies night once a month.
